Charles McKnight currently serves in the following ministry leadership roles: Coordinator of Mission to North America (MNA) African American Ministries; Executive Director for the Center for African American Church Planting; advisory committee member for the PCA Unity Fund; advisory committee member for Missions to the World; advisory committee member for Covenant Seminary; and advisory committee member for Historically Black Colleges and Universities Link.
Charles co-planted West Charlotte Church (WCC) in the historic African American west Charlotte community and served as an assistant pastor at Christ Central Church before planting WCC, which is the first and only African American led PCA church planted by another African American-led church.
Additional roles Charles has served include being a founding member of the Central Carolina Presbytery Intercultural Church Planting Committee, a member of the oversight commission for the revitalization of Freedom Church, and a consultant in their union with WCC. He has served as a board member of the PCA Unity Fund and as an assessor with the MNA Church Planting Assessment Center. In addition, he has mentored and coached numerous church planters.
